Terms of Use

Last updated: 7 July 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and aud-io for your use of the aud-io app. By downloading or using aud-io, you agree to them.

Your licence to use aud-io

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use aud-io on Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with these terms and the Apple Standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement, which also applies to your use of the app.

Your music is your responsibility

aud-io plays audio files that you add to it from your own sources. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to store and play the music in your library. aud-io does not provide, sell, or stream a music catalog, and does not grant you any rights to any music.

Acceptable use

Please use aud-io lawfully. Except to the extent permitted by law or by the licences of its open-source components, you agree not to reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the app, and not to use aud-io to infringe anyone's rights.

Open-source components

aud-io includes third-party open-source software, used under its respective licences. You can view the acknowledgements and licences, and the offer of corresponding source for the components we use under the GNU Lesser General Public License, in the app under Settings ▸ About ▸ Open-Source Licenses.

No warranty

aud-io is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that metadata retrieved from third-party services will be accurate.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, aud-io and its developer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection laws that cannot be waived.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
